Marvel's Spider-Man is a 2018 action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The first installment in the Marvel's Spider-Man game series, it is based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man and tells an original narrative that is inspired by the long-running comic book mythology, while also drawing from various adaptations in other media. In the main story, the superhuman crime lord Mister Negative orchestrates a plot to seize control of New York City's criminal underworld. When Mister Negative threatens to release a deadly virus, Spider-Man must confront him and protect the city while dealing with the personal problems of his civilian persona, Peter Parker.

Runs well on modern hardware.
A few thoughts on Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.
My 4-year-old son is a huge Spider-Man fan, and since the game was basically dirt cheap during a Steam sale, I picked it up thinking we’d just mess around with it a little on weekends. We started casually: TV, Xbox controller, full chill mode. He would move from mission to mission, swing around the city and explore, while I handled most of the combat. It quickly turned into a surprisingly fun father-son gaming experience. Then at some point I realized... I was getting seriously hooked myself and started playing even when he wasn’t around, because the game is genuinely insanely fun. Long story short: between playing together and me continuing solo, we almost 100%-ed the game and all the DLCs (we’re only missing 3 suits), and somehow ended up spending around 50 hours in it. And yes, “we’ll just try it for a bit” remains the biggest lie in gaming right after “just one more quest.” I had heard the Spider-Man games were great, but honestly, I didn’t expect them to be THIS good. Especially considering the original game came out in 2018. From the movement and combat to the animations and the overall feeling of New York City, everything is crafted with an absurd amount of care and attention to detail. Huge respect to Insomniac Games. They absolutely nailed it. If you enjoy action-adventure games and somehow still haven’t played this gem, I highly recommend it. The game is absolutely worth your time. Also, we’re already about 2.5 hours into Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and that game already feels like a proper next step instead of just a reskin of the first one. Which honestly makes me even more excited to eventually get to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. But one thing at a time. Right now, me and my son are busy trying to beat Miles Morales challenges. :)

winging around New York alone makes this game worth playing. The combat feels smooth, the story hits harder than expected, and visually it still looks amazing. Some side activities get repetitive, but honestly, being Spider-Man never stops being fun. One of the best superhero games ever made. 🎮🕷️
