100% 132 hours, Main story took like 95 hrs An amazing game to end the trilogy, I have some opinions bout it The greats This game sucked me in, it was so immersive, the map is a handrawn thing, the gas mask gets holes and you have to patch it, the inventory is a backpack and the world keeps running when I open it up, the attention to detail is immaculate here Game is beautiful and runs well ~70 fps low 1080p on my 780M, and jumps to almost 100 indoors Gunplay is satisfying and the new workbench mechanic is great as well. Loved the idea of turning a tiny revolver into a powerful sniper rifle Ranger hardcore is punishing as usual The maps are almost open world and huge, running around and exploring stuff is alot of fun I like that I get some downtime after finishing every chapter and HEARING NPCs yap, makes them feel like theyre real somehow. The characters although they doesnt have much time to interact with Artyom are nice and a much needed improvement from the last game Russian voice acting is really good The achievements are fair and not tedious, except for some achievements, most of them are not hard to get Really love the dynamic day/night cycle, and the drinking to heal mechanic at safe spots, really helped me out at Ranger Hardcore I like how guns get visually dirtier the more I run around in puddles and sand and oil patches. Really adds a layer of gameplay where I have to dodge the puddles and avoid splashing water everywhere The DLCs are amazing and totally worth it The mehs I think that the quality of the maps themselves kinda took a bit of a dip in quality as The Volga was really amazingly expansive, then to the Caspian it was just dessert, and then the Taiga is just really small and feels linear tbh. But they still are very high quality and immersive, its just that the Volga has set such a high bar that I think really overshadows the later maps. The linear maps are still great as usual tho. I kinda miss the old currency system in the Moscow metro of MGRs, I know that Artyom and the crew arent living in it anymore and the outside world doesnt have to use that type of currency but I just think that its such an original idea that really was leagues better than the typical scrap and chem combo. Movement is kinda floaty? When running around I dont notice it much but when I jump and then crouch I can just see Artyom float like a fairy across the ground. The fall damage is frustrating too. The English voice acting is better now but why do they speak fluent English with a heavy Russian accent, I know this is set in Russia but Id just wish they could speak their lines with a little less on the accent and maybe shove in it a few Russian lines like Pavel did in Last Light Hearing Sam and Tom speak English in the Russian voice version is kinda funny lol And the restriction on scrap and chemicals in Ranger Hardcore is bugging me, what do you mean i can only get 300 of each, I wanna hoard them all!!!!! I like the silent protagonist thing but I wish Artyom could speak to characters, he already speaks at the diary entries at the start of every chapter so idk why he wouldnt speak here. Theres a section in the Volga where (SPOILER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Stepan asks Artyom to convince the Colonel to let Astya and Nastya to the Aurora but he just ends up asking the Colonel himself because Artyom is silent guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I kinda like an MC that talks like Sam or Colonel Khlebninkob more as I can see who they are and how they interact with everyone around, like how Sam interacts with the captain and Tom or how the colonel with his son. I think that its one of the reasons why the Two Colonels DLC hits so hard in the feels. As to Artyom, I cant ever relate to him or put myself in his shoes as in the game hes ultra chad who pulled Russian baddie without talking and mows through the enemy frontline, hes just the ideal peak male while im js a chud I dont like to shoot doggies, why do they keep smelling me from ten trillion miles away. The bad I know iron mode is supposed to be hard but it cant be fair if i keep getting soft locked from climbing ladders in the Volga and the game keeps crashing at the Caspian two hours into the run. Really just bums me out Not really anything else bad here IN CONCLUSION Metro exodus is an amazing game and an amazing way to end a trilogy, now we wait for 2039 10/10
Metro Exodus is a good sequel to Metro Last Light and Metro 2033. It has a good story and is very immersive. I really enjoyed playing it.
metro exodus is SO SO PEAK even tho i dropped it after 5 hours. lemme explain. i REALLY didn't like the first major chapter, the open world felt wrong for metro. no tunnels, no claustrophobia, no oppressive weight. the game starts out as metro, but turns into something far greater than og metro. the world & story building in exodus is NEARLY unparalleled imo from intense, claustrophobic action in the metro, to ridiculously detailed open world sections, exodus expands on the first 2 games in a way ive NEVER seen in a trilogy. the story is LEAPS ahead of the first 2 games, by the end, i was genuinely stressed that it was going to end. 2033 had atmosphere, last light had personal stakes, exodus has both + an entirely new layer of story depth. artyom isnt just surviving anymore - hes actually trying to build something. a life, a home, a family. the moral choices actually hit different when youve spent 50 hours with these people on a train. the atmosphere is the best in the series. thats saying something. the tunnels of 2033 are iconic, the station politics of last light are sharp, but exodus shifts from dread to something more complex. the environments are genuinely insane; snowy forests, radioactive deserts, terrifying swamps, a dead city that raised my heartbeat more than OUTLAST did. each level has its own vibe, its own rules, its own rhythm. i loved every single one by the end, in a way that hasnt been replicated by any game ever. combat is drastically improved, yet still lacking in some departments. its functional, but i must admit running over demons with a VAN was undeniably fun. the weapons feel weighty enough, the gun degradation system is a nice touch, but youre not here for the combat. you never were. the open world fear is real but overblown, yes its entirely diff from the first games but its FAR from ubisoft bloat. every area has purpose, every side objective and character belongs. your crew doesnt just feel like a bunch of poorly written slop side characters, they feel like family, and your own decisions DIRECTLY impact what happens to them. on a side note, the pacing between open spaces and tight corridors is balanced better than youd expect. in fact, its phenomenal. put 50 odd hours in on main story alone, havent touched the dlc yet. 50 hours. for a single playthrough of a linear shooter, that speaks for itself. its not perfect. the dialogue is still kinda janky. some voice acting is rough. the stealth sections can be finicky. but the flaws are so small in comparison that they have a negligible impact on the experience. metro exodus is the best game in the trilogy. not the most atmospheric, not the most personal, but the most complete. it takes everything the series built and actually moves it forward. some may say its flawed, but a masterpiece nevertheless. its time to stop reading and to buy the game ffs. just do it man. 9.6/10.
