Minds Beneath Us

It takes quite a lot for me to set aside the time to finish a game nowadays, especially for sidescroller/visual novel esque games. So the fact that this game somehow hooked me right from the beginning all the way to the end across half the year (according to steam achievements I first started playing back in May of this year and I just finished it in September at the time of writing due to getting busy... as seems to happen everytime I try to sit down and play a game now :( ) is quite the accomplishment. English translation has a few typos but overall a very engrossing experience set in a part of the world that is rarely explored in gaming.

Wonderfully written narrative gameplay with great character building and world building. Loved the cyberpunk themed dystopian world and the art.

Unforgettable Journey It has been an amazing experience on the Steam Deck. From beginning to end, the story was truly immersive. It is slow paced and a bit repetitive but it is worth trying out. By the end of the game, it left me empty and wishing more. I enjoyed the neon dystopian city of Wanpei. It can be beautiful to look at but hidden beneath all of it shows the world is run by shady organizations. Every character has their own stories where they tackle their flaws and develop. It does need some optimization and English patch. I noticed a few FPS drops, heavy GPU usage, and grammatical error. Hopefully, more people try out this game because it deserves more attention. Overall, I recommend playing MBU. A hidden gem.
