MiSide is an adventure game developed by Russian indie development team AIHASTO. It was initially published as a demo on August 18, 2023, before being fully released on Steam on December 11, 2024. The game begins on a light-hearted tone where the player downloads a mobile game and starts hanging out with their new anime-styled virtual girlfriend by playing various mini-games with her. Soon, the player finds the story taking on a metafictional horror narrative.

Runs well on modern hardware.

The amount of content, the variety of mini-games, and its unique overall design make it a game that absolutely deserves a chance. Although it's relatively short, every moment feels meaningful and well-paced. The different versions of Mita each have their own distinct personalities, and they're written surprisingly well. Throughout the game, you'll find yourself sympathizing with some of them, while growing genuinely attached to others. The game currently features two main endings—or technically three, although one of them is still unfinished according to the developers. I completed the longer ending in about 5.5 hours, and I walked away feeling completely satisfied with the experience. The "crazy ai girlfriend" concept has been explored many times before in TV shows and anime, but experiencing that kind of story as an interactive game creates a completely different feeling. It adds a level of immersion that simply isn't possible in other forms of media. The character models are charming and fit the game's art style perfectly, while the gameplay mechanics remain enjoyable throughout. My only real complaint is the lack of proper controller support, which would have made the experience even better. Other than that, MiSide is an easy recommendation. Its engaging story, well-timed jump scares, unsettling atmosphere, and the constantly changing tone brought by each version of Mita make it a memorable experience that I believe every horror fan should try at least once.
MiSide is a Yandere Simulator that worked. Cappie and Mila are the best girls in the game!!
Love the game, so much cute and crazy mixed together. All the minigames are actually really well built too, mechanics on all of them are clean. Some of the chapters made me sad.
I didn't want to leave the child Mita in the hallway alone, she seemed so scared and alone.
