Big into the Monster Hunter games and just never have played Stories. Seriously enjoyed this one a ton. Couldn't believe I had sunk 60+ hours into it once the credits rolled. RE9, Pragmata and this game have been some amazing games lately Capcom has developed. Absolute gorgeous visuals. Combat is really fun with it's 'rock-paper-sister' style attack types + managing a few monsties and their elements + attacks. Story was fun and kept me propelling forward. Playing this has me wanting to check out the other two MHS games. Definitely on my list!
I don't write reviews normally. Complete lack of endgame content, locks you before the final boss and forces you to keep The rathalos in your party the entire game and NEVER lets you remove him even after beating the game. These are obvious features the existed and i will be leaving this review not recommended until these things are changed.
Monster Hunter Stories 3 made me enjoy creature collector games against my will. I used to think this genre wasn't for me, but then I got a new monster, used it's kinship skill, saw the majestic animation, and I suddenly understood. The best part of the game is collecting a monster and immediately testing what cinematic war crime it can do. even the story actually pulled me in more than I expected. The monsters don't feel like copy paste creatures either, each one has its own style and reason to make me try it. the problem is there are so many of them to try them all. this game made me want to try more games from this genre. very underrated, this game deserves more attention.
