I can't think of much things to say about how wonderful this saga is but the first word is WOW, I'm always amazed of how all Monument Valley games keep evolving its mechanics more and more while still being a visual threat and not feeling forcefully tedious like many other puzzle games. Now regarding the atmospheres of this game, I say it leans into the adventurous and the introspective sides in a balanced way, while in the first two games one side was more prominent than the other. And also
I love hubs that keep evolving and the one in this game does it in a wonderful way
. The only thing I didn't really like about the story was
how the teacher died, seemed too forceful and casual for someone so important for the story to die by having to keep a pressure plate pressed
. Anyway it's one of those rare sagas that makes it really hard to decide what is the favourite between the three games, for me I think it's impossible. I hope to see more Monument Valley games in the future, but even if not, this third game felt like a very satisfying ending, even in the whole atmosphere, but if this was instead a sign of even more experimentation in the future, it's even better
I truly enjoy monument valley game for the soothing music and for the peace of mind. A must try! Thank you developer for this masterpiece :)
Another much welcome return to the serene, space-warping land that is Monument Valley - though, perhaps this time it's more... Monument River? Indeed - the journey this time takes the latest soul to receive the mantle of Lightkeeper across many waters, both serene and treacherous. Over these innumerable generations, the Valley has seemingly changed... and the people within it will need to change, too. But perhaps by foregoing familiarities... something new can be gained? Just as short and sweet as the prior two chapters - all while exploring new and artistic spaces where "up" can be a matter of perspective. All the wonderful, adaptive music and creative visuals you've come to expect... and I highly recommend getting the complete set if you have yet to experience the other two installments. Takes roughly a sitting (or two, if you're busy!) to see through to completion. If there was a way to frame a game on the wall and admire it every so often, this certainly would be a top choice for me.
