Worth playing for sure, but the really weird politics only felt weirder this time around. I think it would have been better and more effective if it wasn't trying to be so quirky the whole time. There are really genuine moments of pathos that are undercut by constant jokes. Plus, (despite the game clearly disliking both parties it presents) the things it decides to present as evil for Advance are... strange. Like maybe I'm just too woke but are we really still making a big deal about tax cuts for 1%ers. It really wants to portray both sides as well meaning when... I would argue frankly neither side is irl! I think a choice between truly bad and truly bad (perhaps both dressed as being nice) would have been more effective compared to the choice we get between misguided utopianism and weirdly anarchic conservatism. Would love to see a more serious version of this but also that version wouldn't have Patrick Bannon 2 which is one of my all time favorite bits in anything ever.
Extremely fun game, extremely fun concept. Too bad it's Centrist slop that wants to have an "Enlightened Centrist" stance to such a degree that they're force themselves to make both sides in the game have the comical consistency of a thirteen year old Nazi/Stalinist with not a single sensical reason for half of their actions. If you can get past that, I highly recommend it, I'm just leaving a negative review because I believe Centrists are the most annoying people on the planet barely capable of sapience
wishing I discovered this gem sooner. a solid game, with some great lore & humour & fun gameplay. a favourite discovery in recent. you take control as Alex, a cleaner turned broadcaster. and your job? you dictate how the public perceives news, celeb gossip & the truth, in a totalitarian regime. you decide what is NOT FOR BROADCAST. after sinking a solid amount of time into the ps & pc version respectively, it is definitely a one of a kind game. 10/10 would get shocked again
