My problem with Klei games in general is how they all tend towards having an ever-increasing demand/excitement curve with absolutely no room for breaks. There is always another fire to put out, and it's rare to get a moment to just sit back and enjoy watching the system you've created. Rimworld can have its moments of tension, but, unless you're playing on a particularly sadistic Randy Random seed, you'll still have moments of downtime between disasters. Even at its most difficult, you'll still have time to slow down; watch your colonists tend to the farms, mourn the losses of the last attack, laugh at the poor schmuck who has no choice but to go on a murderous killing spree because of the lack of table, and play the game without actually playing the game. Factorio Death Worlds have an impending sense of urgency in how you have to be sure you're teching just a little faster than the biters are evolving. However, since biter evolution is linked to pollution generation, you still have time to stop and plan. Watch the lines run as you figure out your next expansion. Even with impending doom right around the corner, situations tend toward stability, so there's always downtime when you need it. In Oxygen Not Included, the moment you finish building your new oxygen generator, it's time to work on that water reclamation system before your tanks run dry. After that, you've got to tackle those intermittent power issues, then you've got to do something about all the waste heat slowly cooking the colony, and now this, and that, and oh hey you need to update your oxygen again, and then it's time for... Any second unpaused that isn't spent supervising another overhaul or construction project is another second closer to the death of your colony. Don't get me wrong, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is the core design philosophy behind Oxygen Not Included, and it's great at what it does. Just as Don't Starve is excellently balanced to keep you just at the edge of starvation at all times, ONI is balanced around always having another barely manageable slow death hitting the colony at all times. Depending on who's playing, this can be fun in its own right. Just know what you're getting into, as this cup of tea isn't for everyone.
Oh boy, Get your Google Sheets ready, you better learn how to make calculations. First of all, i will say that this is an amazing game, and everything i will be saying here is satirical in nature and meant to be funny. Buy the game it is worth it... IF YOU ARE A NERD!!! (and proud and proud to be) Even though this game looks simple on the surface, there is a lot of managing of Temperatures, Resources, Processes, Liquids, Gases, Time, Stress, Schedules, Priorities, ETC. The goal of the game is to reach efficiency, and it can be VERY intimidating. As a true sim, you are given 3 Dupes (Duplicates, Clones, Printable Life Forms) of which you can re-roll and give them a starting specialty. For the rest, you are up to the RNG gods to save you or smite you. You start by digging your little hole, to soon realize that if you don’t build a bathroom right away, everyone will pee on your drinking water and poison your survival supplies for the rest of the run. Then, they will randomly fall to sleep because you forgot to build a bed. Depending of where they fall to sleep it can cause a lot of problems, especially if they can't breathe. Every rock is out to get you, #1 cause of Dupes deaths comes from digging a rock, the rock Entombing the exit and then they suffocating somewhere stupid. If you managed to restart a few times to fix this dumb mistakes, then you will quickly realize why the game is called “Oxygen not included” Even thought a little oxygen is indeed included, it will only last you a few cycles, then you better start producing more, or you will be looking at another restart. Then you managed to survive, and build enough machines to produce oxygen, but now, your whole base is drowning in Carbon Dioxide, Your kitchen that you built on the underground is now covered in unbreathable gases. Good luck learning the density of gases, and planning ahead for every action you make. In this game, EVERY action has a reaction. Those machines you build to make oxygen and cover your base with Carbon Dioxide? Well those machines like to generate heat. If the heat is not properly managed, it will start burning your Dupes, but the worst effect of heat is not direct burning, is changing the temperatures in your base, making it too hot to grow your plants. No Plants = No Food, No Food = No Life. And let’s say you managed all of this, YOU are a total nerd that calculated all of this and made it out of the starting phase, Now you move to the starting phase. The next bios you start mining have two big problems. The first one, has Chlorine Gas and Hydrogen Gas, which can harm your colony if not managed properly, as well as an uncomfortable 35C+ heat, that spreads to everything you build and do. Remember, Every ore you mine, has a temperature, and when you build with that ore, That temperature transfers to the machine you build. That Iron at 35C will make a nice machine at 35C. And let’s not talk about the Gasers which will produce gases and liquids at deadly temperatures. Then the other Bio, The slime bio, will introduce you to everyone’s favorite friend, Slimelung. Virus that spreads like wildfire unless you properly manage it. It will slow down your dupes, make them very sick, and make you regret every exploring pass your nice little hole. And so on, the problems just keep exponentially escalating. So have fun on your 2nd or 3rd job. Is soo much fun to start spread sheets on how much a creature can poop coal for your power generator to keep your battery filled, and your food refrigerated. Good luck, have fun, and don’t feel bad if you lose everything multiple times until you are able to build a proper colony. I made it to 1700 cycles and still managed to lose to a dumb mistake.
很好玩,才玩六十多个小时,就享受到了建造和研究的快了
