Palworld is an upcoming action-adventure, survival, and monster-taming game created and published by Japanese developer Pocketpair. The game is set in an open world populated with animal-like creatures called "Pals", which players can battle and capture to use for base building, traversal, and combat. Players may also assign the Pals to bases where they will automatically complete tasks for the player. Palworld can be played either solo or online with up to 32 players on one server. It was announced in 2021 and launched through early access for Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in January 2024, and for the PlayStation 5 in September 2024.

Runs well on modern hardware.

This game is gonna get a huge update on July 10 and its gonna be Peak as ♥♥♥♥. Nintendo could never compare, greedy ass bastards lol.
By and large, the biggest thing I noted about Palworld, that matters a lot to me, is the interaction and functionality that Pokemon lacks. Because that is the big thing, try and escape it, this game will always be up against Pokemon, it is inescapable. Sure, pokemon isn't a survival game thing. But I was telling someone how your pals provide practicality and functionality as opposed to Pokemon, once upon a time Pokemon had to use HMs. But that was just a means of clearing obstacles to actually progress in the terrain. You could use cut to cut the grass but thats about where it ended for a utilitarian purpose outside of cutting small trees. Fly was just to fast travel, surf to move, not the worst things but you could tell Fly had the most use all things considered whilst surf was just a necessity. The pokemon utility abilities in Sun and Moon were just transportation flair, and I think the only real time it came close to what I thought of for functionality was Scarlet/Violet? Where they just hand you the most boring legendary pokemon ever to use as a bike, a mainstay item in the pokemon series? Another close comparison would be ARK, functionality and all that provided by a large variety of dinos, prehistoric creatures, and mock prehistoric creatures. You're with these creatures regardless for any tasks, and it kinda sorta branches over to how once upon a time your pokemon followed behind you but that seemed to be an on and off gimmick. But that's where the strength is, giving ARK a pokemon reskin of all things somehow just creates magic, it's like the magic of wording and phrasing. The point is I recommend it. This practically feels like a pokemon game that just expands upon what you do with pokemon. Over 1000 pokemon and you only get 6 for battling. And here? There's just a full exploitation of the variety it brings for the pals. My biggest point is Pokemon has so much and does so little, this has little, and does more. To Gamefreak, I'm not asking for pokemon with guns, I'm asking for interaction with the world that constantly expands, interaction beyond small token efforts that seldom carryover between games.
9/10 Would recommend Pros: -Really solid game overall, even in early access -Works great on Steamdeck -Graphics are beautiful, especially the night sky -The gameplay is very straightforward and provides little barrier to entry -There’s so much to do in the game that it has something for everyone. Wanna have a chill time? You can. Wanna hardcore battle? You can. Wanna decorate a house you made on a mountain by a lake? You can. Wanna do crime? You absolutely can lol Cons: -500+ hours in and I have no idea what the plot is -Having multiple pals working in the same location causes the SteamDeck to drop frames -There are spots on the map where you can glitch into the ground and get stuck. I don’t recommend playing on higher levels because of this and the death penalty -Currently the end game (in early access) is unbalanced for a solo player. I have no one playing this with me and it’s a hell of a grind to get enough to do the final bits -Are we gonna talk about catching humans in the spheres or……….? In Summary: Every dollar you spend on a game should be at least 1 hour of entertainment. This game is an absolute steal for the price and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fun time running around catching Pals and daydreaming.
