Planet of Lana is a 2023 puzzle-platform game developed by Wishfully and published by Thunderful Publishing for Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, and later by Playdigious for Android and iOS. In the game, the player assumes control of a teenage girl named Lana and her cat-like companion Mui, as they explore a fictional planet invaded by hostile alien machines. The game was inspired by cinematic platformers such as Inside, while its visuals were inspired by films from Studio Ghibli.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Cool little side scroller. The game is basically a combination of simple puzzles, stealth parts and platforming. It doesn't bring anything new to the table or is special in any way but it's still fun if you want to sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Planet of Lana is a decent, artsy/visually artistic, linear sidescroller walking-sim with slight puzzles. + Great visual art/palette + Good atmosphere + Decent mix of art, layout, environments, music, sound design * ~four-hour playthrough * Strictly linear, predetermined, every action predesigned, and failure-reset on deviation * Environment puzzles can be hard to solve or identify the hints for * Two or three quick time event sections - Regular forced slow cutscenes, taking away control, breaking immersion - Some continuity and realism issues detracting from the atmosphere Planet of Lana is more of an interactive story and art piece than an interactive, explorable, or controllable game. If you're fine with that, the slow pace, and losing control for cutscenes, or even looking for it, then you will probably enjoy this title. I found the character obnoxious and stupid. Under life-threatening danger, and with another party FAR removed, they repeatedly call out to them, as if they were close and as if they were not in danger of being spotted. This is not a sparse occurrence, but a regular theme. In another instance, walking further and further away from the place where they lost someone, they call out to them repeatedly. This in combination with the repeated and very slow cutscenes showing even obvious things or things that could have played out in the normal camera view, made it an irritating experience. Almost all progression was obvious or fairly obvious, with some environmental hints provided as well, except for some puzzles. For me, I was able to appreciate and enjoy some of the visually artistic elements and the effort they put into such a work. Everything else, and playing it in general, felt annoying and irritating to me, unfortunately. If you're fine with the restrictions and you don't consider them downsides, you may enjoy it just fine.
One of the best games I've ever played. Beautiful graphics, amazing soundtrack, clever puzzles and intreging story. Bought the sequel right after finishing this gem. Well done wishfully! <3
