Runs well on modern hardware.
I didn't liked original Separate Ways, due to the lack of something new, expect for new short section and Saddler boss fight, but new SW solves the problem of felling, that i'm just playing a shortened version of RE4 with new character, which didn't stand out in any particular way in gameplay. It just hurts a little, that it's basically content from original game, released as separate (hehe) DLC. Overall in my opinion it's very good expansion.
A fun DLC that parallels the events of the main game. I enjoyed playing as Ada a lot, especially since I don't have to constantly watch over Ashley. I hope someday she gets her own base game, I think she deserves it. I was a little disappointed that the Black Robe monster was dealt with quickly, but at least now I know how she played a part against Lord Saddler so that makes up for it.
Seperate Ways is an amazing DLC that gives even more kudos to the original resident evil 4 than the main game! I played it on Hardcore and there were moments where I died a couple times but with enough brute force or changing strategy, it was smooth sailing. The brutes with guns were pain in the ass though. I wasn't very fond of the TMP as I never use it but having it from the start made me atleast try it for the first time. Different locations were beautiful and gave a breath of fresh air. My favorite were the village segments, sewers/water gate and the laboratory. The castle section didn't really change much outside of adding a few rooms. The Island part is still my least favorite like in the base game. The grappling hook combat is so satisfying! When I was playing as Leon I would always run up to an enemy just for them to unstagger😭 The re4 og references were implemented nicely! I loved the lasers, lift where you had to shoot enemies ect. There weren't a lot of call backs to original Seperate Says though. The only thing I recall is the grappling hook and timer for the rocket launcher. I played re4 remake first then re4 og with Seperate Ways and then remake of Seperate Ways so it was an interesting mix and made me look for differences in each game. The thing that bothered me the most was Ada's voice acting. I had written in the main game review that I wasn't sure if I liked Ada and had to get to know her a little bit better and now I must say that I like her a bit more. She is a badass in terms of movement and abilities. When you swap Leon's and Ada's character model you can see how big of a difference there is. Lily's Gao mocap work is great in that regard. Her facial expressions were okay. The voice acting though- It was so lifeless, I could feel that behind this voice is an actor that seems to be reading the script and not showing any emotions. I'm aware that it was her first performance as a VA so it's not entirely her fault. The thing that amuses me is that Capcom decided to cast her. In re2 Ada's voice is so much better!! You can actually feel like she is a real person. I know that her character is mysterious and all that but it doesn't mean she has to have such a monotone voice! Luis's and Wesker's performance carried the cutscenes though. The rewards for beating the DLC are very nice. Luis's vest outfit and Ada's dress are so pretty!! I had a lot of fun playing Seperate Ways and I can't wait to see more of Wesker. Also I was so happy to spend more time with Luis in this game <3. Overall I highly recommend!
