RimWorld is a construction and management simulation video game developed by Canadian game designer Tynan Sylvester and published by Ludeon Studios. Originally called Eclipse Colony, it was initially released as a Kickstarter crowdfunding project in early access for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux in November 2013, and version 1.0 was released on October 17, 2018. The game was ported to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as RimWorld Console Edition on July 29, 2022, with development and publishing being handled by Double Eleven. Rather than a test of skill or a challenge, the game is intended to be an AI-powered "story generator", where the game is used as the medium for players to experience narrative adventures.

Runs well on modern hardware.

You'd think after nearing 2800 hours in this game (And nearly a decade) I'd be able to write a solid and cohesive review for this game. But honestly, I still am at a loss for words. I spent the first 50ish hours trying to learn it, and the rest of the time just having fun. It's a brilliant colony management sim that you can play in more ways that I can count. Whatever happens in one playthrough, likely wont happen in another (Even if you start nearly exactly the same). After the amount of DLC added (and Randy Random forbid mods). There are endless ways to play and enjoy this game. It might not be for everyone, but if you like Colony/Colony story driven games. It's for you. Has, and will always be a 10/10 game for me.
This is one of those games that makes you time travel. Not in game, but in reality. This was the fastest 880 hours of my life have disappeared. Do I regret it? No. Should I have slaughtered all those prisoners because my colony was low on food and I didn't want them to try to break out as a result of their starvation? Who knows, but their organs were useful,
I cannot state how good this game is, Base game is really good, modded is crazy, and I've had so many different stories from this from amazing moments of total mud stomping the enemy, to Crisis scrambling to pick up the ashes. And funny odd ones where a group of 10 cats joined my colony, only for lightning to kill half of them and then a meteor killed the rest...Thank you Randy, I didn't know you hated cats so much.
