RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is a construction and management simulation video game developed by Origin8 Technologies and published by Atari. The game is a port of both RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 combined into a single game; both games were originally created by Chris Sawyer for the PC and utilize the same game engine. RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic also includes RollerCoaster Tycoon's two original expansion packs, Added Attractions and Loopy Landscapes, with the option to purchase the RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 expansions Wacky Worlds and Time Twister as DLC. RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic was released for Android and iOS in December 2016 and for Microsoft Windows and macOS in September 2017. A Nintendo Switch port was released on December 5, 2024, while a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S port was released on March 27, 2026.

I really want to give this a thumbs up because of what game it is but apparently they broke the game back in march (2026) and haven't fixed it still as of august (2026) even though plenty of people have been vocal about the issues. It used to run great but now it's basically unplayable. You can't zoom out too far or it crashes. When building things you get a green ghost of where you're placing it but sometimes that will get stuck and glitch out and you have to restart to fix it. Gridlines on land and water glitch out as well as some textures on rides. Go-kart tracks can't have any sharp turns at all or the cars get stuck forcing you to close the ride, go into construction, and reopen it, but that does nothing to fix it since they'll just get stuck again in the same spot. If they ever fix the game I will gladly change my review but as of now stay away from this one. Get the original two games (also on steam and getting both is cheaper than this one) and download OpenRCT2, which is free and will make those originals playable on modern hardware.
A convenient and more modern way to play an absolute retro classic! Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic is Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2 in a more modern package that runs better on modern systems! and it runs pretty well and is easy to pick up and play! Another bonus is if you want to use OpenRCT2 this game will also work for that package too! and runs perfectly fine! My only complaint is the price is a bit too high for what is a very minor upgrade to an old game, pick up the originals and use OpenRCT2 if you can! but if you don't want to mess around with any of that, this is still a fine way to play the classic Rollercoaster Tycoon! <3
This game is great for everyone and anyone, the rollercoaster tycoon games are some of the best out there by far. This game has little to no problems, although it is easy to get soft locked early game. My computer is very prone to overheating and this game is the best a game has ran on my computer in a long time.
