you know, the reason that i bought this game was never the gameplay. rune factory's gameplay never really change (nah, rf5 doesn't have any significant changes. it's just move from top-down to a full 3D). i only bought this because my friend recommended it, so i checked the characters's design. oh boy, i instantly fell for shara and decided to just buy it. tbh, this game is far easier than rf4. i remember that i had a very hard time with how rf4 relationships events work (it's just so random that i spent most days just sleep to wait for the event to trigger, but nope). in this game, it's just basically "check your mailbox and the request board regularly" and you're good
Not as complex as RF4 but I did enjoy this one a lot. The story and characters are straightforward, and in general I have very little issues. I guess the game has some weird balance issues at times, but that isn't a big deal considering how old this game is. $40 for a remaster of a 15+ year old game is a steep price but it's still a great game 8.7/10
Coming at w/ no prior RF exposure, Stardew, Roots of Pacha, Sun Haven, and My Time at Portia (crafting focus here, no farming bur found very addictive). Farmings been done better, re-clearing the field gets annoying quick. not like after season change, clear it and couple in game days later far too much has returned. combats been done better. Controls have bitten me multiple times w/ controller x triggering escape spell. Just being able to change binding would improve things here. Just a solid meh. dont hate it but not a game thats hard to put down. ymmv
