I recently picked up RV There Yet? for our weekend gaming sessions, and honestly, I didn't expect a road trip simulator to induce this much screaming. It’s a hilarious, chaotic co-op driving game where you and your buddies just try to get a beat-up recreational vehicle home from vacation after being forced onto a sketchy alternate route. The game is incredibly charming, runs perfectly, and somehow manages to make the simple act of driving down a dirt road feel like a high-stakes survival mission. The biggest reason I’m enjoying it is the pure co-op chaos. My Discord server friends and I pile into this single RV, and getting the crew together is ridiculously easy. Of course, this has also given me the extremely important responsibility of being the designated winch commander while the rest of the squad panics. They load in, someone immediately ruins the vibe by failing to grill frozen meat patties, another gets chased by a bear, and suddenly our peaceful weekend drive has become a complete disaster. The gameplay itself is physics-based, delightfully clunky by design, and incredibly easy to jump into. There are plenty of hilarious ways to interact with the RV and the world, like chugging antidotes, frantically passing around EpiPens, or just enjoying a filtered low-tar cigarette while your buddy desperately tries to steer over a boulder. It doesn’t feel like you need to be a driving sim expert; you just need to be willing to laugh when everything goes wrong. The runs are chaotic enough that even when we get the RV irreparably stuck in a ditch in Mabutts Valley, we can just reset and mutually agree to pretend the driver wasn't entirely at fault. Overall, I’m having an absolute blast with RV There Yet? so far. It’s silly, endlessly entertaining, and the proximity chat makes it especially perfect for playing with a group of friends who can't coordinate to save their lives. It may not be the most serious driving game out there, but sometimes you don't need serious, you just need a game that lets you winch your friends out of a ravine while yelling over voice chat. And yes, I will absolutely be reminding them who actually kept the RV running next time we hop in Discord.
I cannot recommend this game enough! Try this game with your friends and trust me you won't be disappointed. One of the best Indie Co Op Games I've ever played. I'm writing this review after starting the last Map of the game which is TOTALLY FREE btw if you have bought the game. To all the Devs that worked for this project, wonderful job.
