Satisfactory is a factory simulation game by Coffee Stain Studios for Windows, Xbox, and Playstation. The player is dropped onto an alien planet with a handful of tools and must use the planet's natural resources to construct increasingly complex factories. The initial goal is to construct a space elevator, through which the Pioneer begins supplying the megacorp the player works for with increasingly numerous and complex components for their unknown, but stated to be prudent, purposes. These exports unlock access to new technology that in turn unlocks a new tier of manufacturing and refinement machines to support the production of the next phase of parts to be delivered to FICSIT.

Runs well on modern hardware.

A haiku: It's not for all but It is my favorite game, Satisfactory. I started playing July 31 2020. I officially beat the game on easy mode (random nodes and easy multipliers) March 2026. I've played over 2000 hours. It fulfills my need for problem solving in a practical setting. It's not everyone's favorite game, but it most certainly is mine. I need a better computer to fully enjoy this game. My 2012 toaster has been playing it all this time. Gets kinda laggy/crashy when my factory gets bigger. I was drawn in with the 600 Meter personal cannon video by by Let's Game It Out. I watched and rewatched that video, and I finally caved. I'm glad I did. No other game has made me pull out a calculator (before I knew there was one in-game) and make a spreadsheet to organize and math-out plans. Minecraft was the only comparison of note with freedom to build and crafting to produce in-game products. But it's not block based like MInecrafe. It's entirely beautified and has creative freedom. The only limits are your patience and inventiveness, and computer processing power, and the edges of the map. I'm posting this review NOW because 1.2 has officially released, and I feel the game is finally at a point of completeness that would have the broadest appeal to gamers. I don't know what else the devs have up their sleeves, but I'm happy where it is right now. The devs are likely among the best community managing teams for any game that has been in development up to this point. Not sure if anyone can top it, but Grounded might be a close second and Factorio could be 3rd. It's not a perfect game. There's glitches. There's holes. There's incomplete gaps tucked away on the map that you can only fall in by being there in that spot. The game goal feels a bit hollow, and the time it takes to accomplish things can make it really draggy (late game in particular). But it really IS satisfying to play. To work out the details. To plan, to organize, to collect, to build. Adding friends can take it up a notch. I like that it tests my patience, I'm quite proud of my level of patience. At some point with a much better computer, I will try hard mode (really grindy). I liked this game so much, I bought 7 more copies for friends. They didn't all have the same love for it that I did, but it's no matter, because I love it just the same. I may never find another game that pulls me in like this one, but that's okay, because this one is enough for me. Oh, and sci-fi. Love sci-fi themed games/movies/books. I'm "FarAndAwayFutures" for a reason. This game hits that sweet spot for me. Okay, well, I'm gonna get back to my factory now. Try it out, you might like it too.
Scratches so many itches. The kinda game you say "I'll just do this one last thing..." and then 3 hours later...
This game is great. But today, I'm going to vacuum the house, do my washing, mow the lawn. Oh wait. That was real life. That was what I was supposed to do today. Instead I played this. For 16 hours in one sitting.
