I've reached that age where you start looking for single-player games that bring a bit of peace to your soul. For me, spending over 3,000 hours in Sekiro honestly felt more like 300. The game hooked me almost immediately. The gameplay, the visuals, and that iconic /cling, cling/ of swords clashing... it's peak gaming. I can't recommend this game enough if you're looking for some of the best gameplay ever made. Thank you, FromSoftware. I think it's finally time for me to start playing your other masterpieces.
In my opinion its one of the best 'From Software' games out and also in terms of pure combat mechanics. This game teaches the importance of mastering the mechanics instead of leveling up your character. Deflecting & evading attacks becomes second nature with enough observation & practice and there is a nice rythm to the combat. Easily among my top 2 'From Software' games now.
Sekiro doesn't let you hide behind builds, grinding, or overleveling. It forces you to learn its combat system and actually get better at the game. You don't upgrade your character to beat the boss. You upgrade yourself.
