I wasn't immediately sold on this game, but it's surprised me at every step with good music, cool art (even if it's rather simplistic), and a combat system that is surprisingly deep and varied despite being quite limited on the surface. I thought runs would start to feel same-y over time, but because you can choose to prioritize between going fast, making fewer moves, or taking less damage, your decision making can vary greatly from run to run, character to character, and that's really where the replayability stems from. Combat is more of a puzzle to solve rather than a test of your build's strength. If that in combination with everything else I said is enticing to you, this is 100% a game for you!
Amazing rogue game. Really forces you to strategize and use your brain. Further in the game one mistake can cost your whole run. Music, and vibe are awesome. 10/10
I knew was going to buy this after about 30 seconds of demo, and it hasn't disappointed me at all. Great stuff. Definitely my favorite game of the year, and probably the last few years. Getting that last achievement is a pretty big grind, so I'm no longer playing this to the exclusion of other games, but I'll keep coming back and grinding away at it now and then.
