When I booted up the game for the first time and heard the magical music from Sigur Rós I knew I was in for a good time. I normally don't do Norwegian language for games, but to me they will always be Snusmumriken, Lille My, Hufsa (my first crush ever, she's so cute!) and Mummitrollet. The game is perfect for all ages, either for the simplistic gameplay and the overload of cuteness - or for the cheer nostalgia. There are lessons to be learned in a childlike way. Only thing I would change is to mark all the viewing vistas with an eye icon so it wouldn't be possible to miss out on content (and achievement).
“Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley” is a sweet, short story about friendship, adventure and protecting and enjoying nature. I've never read Tove Jansson’s children's books, but to be honest this game here was a great place to start the discovery of the moomin-verse) Generally, the game isn’t long, but I think it’s a good thing since you only have time to engage with the good parts and focus on the wholesome moments. Apart from a few annoying tidbits with woodkins (you’ll know them when you see them) the whole story is totally enjoyable and utterly pleasant to play through. The core concepts, the art style, the cosiest of playlists with cottage core vibes easily won me over! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of peace amidst their highly hectic lives. Now I’m off to read “The Moomins and the Great Flood”)
As a fan of the Moomins growing up (watched every cartoon episode and read the books!), this game was a bit of a nostalgic one! It's a fun little adventure, although the graphics are simple it is still pretty. Would have loved it to be longer but I guess there's only so much you can do in a small game. Over all, I would definitely recommend. Especially if you are looking for a little gap filler in your day!
