Soma is a 2015 survival horror video game developed and published by Frictional Games. It follows Simon Jarrett, who finds himself on an underwater remote research facility under mysterious circumstances, which contains machinery that exhibit human characteristics such as possessing a personality and consciousness. He embarks upon discovering its history, while trying to make sense of his predicament and potential future.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Note to self: don't let anyone make a digital copy of my brain One of the best stories I've experienced in gaming. Nice little dose of existential dread and cosmic indifference that'll randomly pop into your mind long after playing as you wonder what it means to be alive.
A horror game where the concept is more terrifying than the game play. A wonderful exploration of consciousness' and questions we are increasingly approaching. A thought experiment told in a media desperate for mature stories. It was an instant classic when it came out and I still regard it as one of the best horror media in any form. If you haven't tried do yourself a favor and see what happens when we are confronted with annihilation in the Pathos research facility. Who knows what you might find, once you do ask yourself. Can you copy a soul or are we just pretending?
So damn good! Instantly in my top 3 horror games. The story, the characters, the atmosphere, the themes, and the questions it presents are among the many things that are really well done. SOMA is also one of those games that really sticks with you after you play it. I don't really have anything bad to say. I mean the gameplay itself isn't to the level of Amnesia TDD or The Bunker but it's not just walking around either and the story more than makes up for it. I guess I did also have some slight lagging and some textures needed a sec to load in but nothing that made it even slightly unplayable. Amazing game. Highly recommend.
