Stray is a 2022 adventure game developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive. The story follows a stray cat who falls into a walled city populated by robots, machines, and mutant bacteria; the cat sets out to return to the surface with the help of a drone companion, B-12. The game is presented through a third-person perspective. The player traverses the game world by leaping across platforms and climbing up obstacles, and can interact with the environment to open new paths. Using B-12, they can store items found throughout the world and hack technology to solve puzzles. Throughout the game, the player must evade the antagonistic Zurks and Sentinels, which attempt to kill them.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Not my type of game, but i was watching my girlfriend playing it. Every room has a little easter egg or secret, which kinda ecouraged her to look around in every room, so it was quite a long journey. I had to do the action parts for her, which are basicly running away or putting the light on the enemies so they pop. I was never been a cat before, but the controls seems to be a bit delayed, i guess for the dramatic feel. She loved the game and I was barely able to drag her from the tv around 2am.
I have not played a game this good/impactful in a long time. Top tier soundtrack, solid story, insanely beautiful UI and design. This game draws you in from the jump. The story subtly sheds light on many themes; it makes you think a lot about the way we do things as humans. One of the more neutral approaches to the idea of an AI dystopia I have seen from a game/story. I enjoy that though. Aside from all of that, it really was a fun little chill game to play. The visuals and sounds itched my brain in a good way. It's also just fun to run around causing chaos as a small orange cat if nothing else. I know this game has been out for a couple years now, but as someone who has just got around to playing it, it has not been discussed enough! Stray has possibly made my list of all time favorites.
Right from the start, the game makes you feel like a cat, knocking objects off shelves, curling up for naps, scratching whatever you can find, and exploring every corner with curiosity. What stood out most was the atmosphere. The world is beautifully crafted and full of personality, making me want to slow down and take everything in. Simply wandering through that world as a cat felt oddly calming, even when the story intensified. I also liked how the game keeps things simple. It never overwhelms you with mechanics and instead focuses on exploration, movement, and enjoying the journey. That makes the experience feel natural and memorable. I could definitely see myself coming back someday just to wander around again.
