Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is a 2022 beat 'em up game developed by Tribute Games and published by Dotemu. It is inspired by and based on the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series and borrows stylistically from the arcade and home console Turtles games developed by Konami during the 1980s and 1990s. The player assumes control of one of the Turtles or their allies as they set out to stop Shredder and Krang from taking over New York City, while facing foes that stand in their way.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a vibrant, love letter to the classic 1987 animated series and feels like a unofficial third sequel to Konami's arcade classics. From the moment you pick up the controller, the game captures the zany charm of the original turtles with fluid animations, iconic voice acting, great boss battles and a nostalgic soundtrack. The gameplay is simple to learn but offers a rewarding depth as you chain together combos and master each ninja’s unique abilities. Whether you are playing solo or teaming up with up to six friends in chaotic local or online co-op, the experience is pure, unadulterated fun. If you have any affinity for retro gaming or pizza-loving heroes in a half-shell, this title is an fantastic playthrough that perfectly balances modern game design with pure, old-school excitement.
I was worried that this would be an easy, colorful, kid-friendly game I'd mash through once and be done with. Instead, I think I got a game I'll be playing for months! Just beating the Story mode with every character on Gnarly difficulty will take me a while because of the optional challenges (most of which are easy, but some take some practice). But what I am really excited about is how many weeks of practice it'll take for me to be able to beat Arcade mode on that difficulty with each character! So far, I only maxed out one and started a second one, but I am so excited that they feel so different because that means that the challenge of beating the game will be different each time. My only two complaints are: (1) the fact that this game has many multiplayer-only achievements which is discouraging (I don't want to play with others at all, the fun part is playing without any help), and (2) the fact that there is no Retry option in the Pause menu, which is a problem for challenges that require beating a level without getting hit. Having to return to the map each time and watch that level's intro card burns me out at times (even though I appreciate the intro cards otherwise!). Otherwise, love it!
The best Turtles game since Turtles in Time! Seriously you need to pick it up if you enjoy beat em-up's, classic couch co-op fun or anything related to Turtlemania!
