My girlfriend and I are huge fighting game fans. There's a pub near us where we used to play Street Fighter, X-Men, Mortal Kombat (her favorite), and King of Fighters '97 until we were down to our very last coin. Honestly, it's pretty much how we met. One day, I was hanging out with my friends at the bar, and we hit it off with the people at the next table. Since I was a little tipsy—and normally, I’m pretty anti-social and not big on talking to strangers—I confidently asked if anyone wanted to play Street Fighter. She wasn't my girlfriend back then, but she immediately started bragging about how she was going to destroy me. That night, I played against 6 or 7 people and didn't lose a single match. She must have been impressed because we started talking, and eventually, we ended up moving in together. Cut to now, I recently introduced her to Tekken. Now, whenever there’s a chore to be done around the house, we settle it with a Tekken match. Need to do the dishes? Tekken match. Cooking dinner? Tekken match. You get the idea. The thing is, I win every single time, meaning I haven't done a single chore in the past month. I used to be quite the house husband, but I’ve gotta admit, I'm starting to love this. She’s been practicing like crazy to beat me. The only thing she doesn't know is that back in the day, I hit Tekken Lord rank in Tekken 6 using Alisa.
One of my favorite fighter franchises. This installment did not disappoint but I'm tekken a break from it. Hoping for another tag tournament. <3 Alisa and Kunimitsu
This is the first Tekken episode available on PC. Making its debut, Tekken 7 is a solid fighting game with an incredible initial roster that covers most fighting lovers' needs. The gameplay is the strongest point of the production, adding some interesting features like movement shortcuts and the "Rage Art"—a powerful but blockable super move that can be used by pressing just one button when our energy is very low. The story mode is not bad, chronicling the saga of the Mishima family. Characters are highly customizable, allowing us to change their appearance as we like. The graphics are based on Unreal Engine 4, making the game visually rewarding. Bandai Namco also made some unfortunate choices that reduced the quality of the experience: the time attack, survival, and team battle modes have been removed. Many historical characters are only available through DLCs and lack any story content; ending sequences are limited to just 28 characters, and most of them are short and comedic. Even Tekken Bowl must be purchased separately. The soundtrack is overall okay, with two or three tracks worth mentioning, but it is nothing comparable to what we had in the first five Tekken episodes or in Tekken Tag. The core gameplay still rocks; what's around it could have been better. My score: 8.0
