I love it so much. I remember playing it way back in the 90's as a kid, and I have wild nostalgia for the story every time i replay it. I've played tons of PAC puzzles, but this one is so utterly well-written, well-cast, and beautifully designed, even if it's over 30 years old. I quite enjoy pixelated games in general, so maybe it's just me, but I think The Dig is also just visually stunning, and it certainly still holds up nowadays, both story-wise as well as visually. Please, please give it a chance. There may be a bit of moon logic here and there, but like 90% of the time, you can get repeats ad infinitum of the clues you need to solve a puzzle. Also, if you can't get the game to full-screen on Steam with ALT+Enter, just get the ScummVM program, and load the game directly from the steam directory, and you acces the menu via ScummVM with F5.
This game really shows how good LucasArts was at creating S-tier point & click adventure games at the time of their peak. While dated and honestly, quite difficult, this is still a real gem and worthy of exploring for those with an interest in PC games and the genres of this era. However, trying to land that lander on the asteroid does conjure that long-dead nightmare of trying to land on the aircraft carrier in Top Gun.
Nostalgia
