The Forgotten City is a mystery adventure role-playing game developed by Australian developer Modern Storyteller and published by Dear Villagers with additional support from Film Victoria. It is a full game adaptation of the critically acclaimed Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim mod of the same name. Initially released in 2015 as a game mod, the full game was released in July 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A cloud-based version launched in September 2021 for the Nintendo Switch.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Seeing the Skyrim mod become a standalone game is neat. It's a decent story and a pretty cool piece of gaming history due to it coming from a mod. This is a fun one day game. I do admit, the golden bow mechanic in a full game built around it would be awesome. I was happy that there was some stuff to explore in the small but interesting worldspace. I wish there was more to do with said loot, but at the end of the day it's a narrative based game and not a fully fleshed out RPG. I got all the achievements + all 4 endings in 7.5 hours, though I did need to do a 2nd playthrough for the minimal loops. That only took me like 30 minutes.
A very well done time loop shenanigans game. There's a few spots where you can't skip dialog (nor animations) but you can mostly avoid these after you've seen them once unless you need to interact with that character again (which you'll probably have to). But given how much dialog you CAN skip it's not that big of a deal. Couple other minor complaints like not being able to rebind the weapon/flashlight bind, but its fine. Just a bit sensitive (ONE notch per selection!)
I didn't expect such good gameplay, a captivating story, and a unique puzzle. A truly great game and adventure!
