The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero is a 2010 role-playing video game developed by Nihon Falcom. The game is the fourth installment of the Trails series, itself a part of the larger The Legend of Heroes series, and follows Trails in the Sky the 3rd (2007). Trails from Zero and its 2011 sequel, Trails to Azure, form the Crossbell arc of the series. The game takes place in Crossbell, a city-state located between two great powers fighting for control over it, and follows Lloyd Bannings and his colleagues Elie MacDowell, Randy Orlando, and Tio Plato. The four form the Special Support Section, a newly formed department of the Crossbell police.

Runs well on modern hardware.

My favourite game of all time, and I'm ecstatic that it's now on steam with a lot of new features and improved graphics. If you're already here, that means you're interested, and I say go for it. You won't regret it. I do recommend playing the trails in the sky trilogy beforehand, though.
If you’re reading this review, you’ve probably already played the Trails in the Sky trilogy, so I’ll cut to the chase. The opening hours of this game feel similar to FC, but more dynamic. You’re still visiting every city in Crossbell State, but since it’s smaller than Liberl, the introduction is shorter and moves at a faster pace. You’ll be solving case after case, while the story steadily progresses. As for the combat, some orbal arts have suffered changes. For example: La Teara (Water, Support) has been replaced by Breath (Wind, Support). It might feel strange at first, but you’ll quickly get used to it. Overall, the combat is very similar to Trails in the Sky, just more polished and refined. In conclusion, you’ll have a GREAT time if you enjoyed the first trilogy. What starts as a simple adventure gradually grows into something far more sinister. P.D Trails the 3rd is an important piece for the last part of this game, specifically Star Door 15 “Paradise”.
This is a detective noir in a dark city, with its only hope being 4 down and out rookies from wildly different walks of life. This is a must play JRPG experience. Do not skip this one.
