Now i get why people prefer office jobs
this game is basically a simulation of a summer job you wouldnt take even for a million bucks an hour. my daily routine? Drain the blood, stitch the mouth shut, and pray the corpse doesnt try to hug me while im looking for a marker D:
getting bullied by demons wasnt exactly in the job description
but apparently, its a package deal. its the only game where you are more afraid of the silence than the screaming and where even a shadow on the wall looks like your death warrant. if u want to develop a lifelong phobia of fridges and body bags, i highly recommend it, just make sure to buy a fresh pack of underwear along with the game
The Mortuary Assistant is a disturbing game. You play as Rebecca Owens, a recent hire at River Fields Mortuary, where you quickly learn that your boss, Raymond Delver, has some unsettling secrets involving more than just the local deceased. At its core, it's a psychological horror where you're working the night shift, embalming bodies, while a demonic presence tries to claim you. The atmosphere is suffocating at times and the jump scares are well-timed, keeping you on edge throughout the shift. You replay shifts over and over to unlock all the endings and achievements. That said, it's not without frustration. Despite hitting all six endings, "The Mortician" achievement didn't pop for me, which was a bit of a letdown. I also passed on the "Well Preserved" and "Light Em UP!" achievements, as they are a grind once the main story is concluded and the mystery solved. Still, for a few hours I enjoyed this game, but I probably won't play it again. I only wanted to finish it before watching the film, (which wasn't as enjoyable as this game).
8/10
A [Mediocre] creepy/horror game. The horror elements are good (diminished by
the fact that can't die, you can just ignore it
), and the game is rather short (30-60 minutes) with different (
6
endings. Each run further reveals the story. The gameplay stays the same, is rather simplistic, and clunky. However, it is not that important unless you are going to check out all the endings and get the full story. If you like horror, or the price is not that important, then the game is worth checking out and beating it at least once.
