SIMPLE STORY about reviving. BUT working together to solve puzzles just isn't that interesting. It's just a kind of repetitive . AND I think "mr rabit magic show" and "rusty lake hotel" do a better job in this aspect; their puzzles connecting more closely with plotline and are more interesting.
The Past Within the future, the future within the past,. use this knowledge to Escape this Cube and get to Rusty Lake., The Past Within is a two player cooperative experience with someone in the past and someone in the future, each player will get the chance to experience the glorious THIRD DIMENSION (Being able to look at all sides of a cube on a table), which is very reminiscent of The Room series. The puzzles within this game aren't very hard, mostly relying on your communication skills with your puzzle partner, but they are very fun to solve, the story is also nice too.
PROS - Brilliant co-op puzzle design. - Creative past-and-future gameplay concept. - Requires genuine communication and teamwork. - Clever puzzles with satisfying solutions. - Great atmosphere, soundtrack, and storytelling. - Replaying with swapped roles offers a fresh perspective. CONS - Quite short. - Best experienced with a dedicated co-op partner. - Limited replay value after both playthroughs. VERDICT The Past Within is a fantastic co-op puzzle game that proves communication can be the most important mechanic in a game. While a single playthrough is relatively short, its clever dual-timeline design and the opportunity to replay from the opposite perspective make it a memorable experience that's well worth playing with a friend. 8/10
