Relive the swashbuckling humorous misadventures of the wannabe pirate Guybrush Threepwood! Back by popular demand, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition faithfully re-imagines the internationally-acclaimed classic game. The game's twisty plot leads our naive hero on a hilarious, swash-buckling search for the fabled secret of Monkey Island. Tales of pirate wealth lure him to the port of Mêlée with high hopes, no money, and insatiable curiosity. If clever enough, he will win the confidence of Mêlée's pirates and find himself blown by the winds of fate toward the terrifying and legendary Monkey Island - an adventure that would chill the bones of even the most bloodthirsty buccaneer.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Guybrush Threepwood might be the least intimidating protagonist in gaming history and that's exactly why this game slaps. The puzzles are genuinely clever, the writing holds up surprisingly well and the insult sword fighting alone is worth the price of admission. The Special Edition lets you swap between the remastered and classic art style on the fly, which is a nice touch. Does it hold your hand? Absolutely not. Will you get stuck and feel like an idiot? Definitely. Will you enjoy every second of it anyway? Yeah, you will. [8.5/10]
One of the greatest games of all time gets an entirely appropriate remaster, so many fantastic memories playing as a kid with my friends. Does the original great justice, what a great thing to do! Still got stuck trying to get the key to lower decks after all these blooming years
When you start a game it forces you to watch minutes of credits without being able to skip them.
