Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 Gold

Despite being a true classic, this game is very difficult to enjoy today, as it has undeniably aged quite a lot. If you are a big fan of the genre, it is certainly worth giving it a try, but for me personally, it was a rather challenging experience, especially considering that I have also played all the old Splinter Cell games. I did my best, but ultimately, I couldn't bring myself to finish the campaign. Still, I have a lot of respect for the old Rainbow Six titles, particularly for their gameplay and art direction. It has always been sad for me to see Rainbow Six Siege gradually turn into such a cartoony FPS. However, Rainbow Six Tactics was recently revealed, which gives me some hope that there is still a future for the franchise.

One of if not the best tactical shooter and rainbow six game by miles. The mechanics and gameplay loop of RS3 is absolutely foundational for the modern tactical shooter of this kind- Games like Ready or Not, Ground Branch, Operator etc. all owe RS3 for establishing (and in a lot of cases even exceeding) many of the gameplay mechanics that make those games what they are. My favourite thing about this game, other than the atmosphere and setting, is the ability to pre-plan unit movements with the ability to go as granular as I feel I need to. You're absolutely able to go gung ho, leading your team from the front directly into the fight, though it's significantly more satisfying to execute a plan with multiple stages and watch it all go off without a hitch. I already had it on the Ubisoft store, but i wanted to play it without that ugly launcher. I like to pretend that I'm using Dokkaebi because since I changed to Linux I couldn't play Siege anymore (And I'm tired of playing It on console). The power of suggestion always work.
