Two Point Hospital is a 2018 business simulation game developed by Two Point Studios and published by Sega for Linux, macOS, and Windows. Console versions for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One were released in February 2020. A version for Amazon Luna was made available in November 2020. A spiritual successor to Bullfrog Productions' 1997 game Theme Hospital, players are tasked with constructing and operating an empire of hospitals in the fictional Two Point County, with the goal of curing patients of fictitious, comical ailments. Since visiting real hospitals is often unpleasant, the emphasis on humour to lighten the mood was deemed important by the developers. The game was designed and developed by some of the creators of Theme Hospital, including Mark Webley and Gary Carr.

Runs well on modern hardware.

"One qualified janitor for ghost hunting, please! Patient: dead!" Two Point Hospital was my very first Two Point game and my introduction to the wonderful world of Two Point Studios. And honestly, what an introduction it was. I really like Two Point Hospital. You get to run all kinds of hospitals, hire doctors, nurses, janitors, and assistants, and train them to become better and more specialized at what they do. As your hospitals grow, so does the complexity of managing them. Suddenly you're not just treating patients anymore, you're juggling staff happiness, finances, room layouts, research, training, and the ever-growing queue of people waiting to be cured. But let's be honest: the absolute best part is the diseases. Monobrow. Lightheadedness. Verbal Diarrhea. Lycanthropy. Yes, those are actual diseases. And naturally, there's a treatment and a diagnosis for every single one of them. Figuring out what's actually wrong with your patients is one of my favorite mechanics in the game. The diagnosis system in particular took me a few hospitals to fully understand, but once it clicked, it became one of the most satisfying parts of running a hospital. You start with a fairly simple facility, but before long you're expanding into new buildings, unlocking new rooms and equipment, researching new treatments, training your staff, and trying to squeeze every last bit of efficiency out of your hospital. And then there's the classic Two Point humor. The ridiculous diseases, bizarre patients, funny announcements, strange treatment machines, and radio hosts constantly talking nonsense give the game so much personality. Even when your hospital is falling apart and patients are dying in the corridors, it's hard not to laugh at what's happening around you. That said, you can definitely tell that Two Point Hospital was the first game in the series. It originally released back in 2018, and some of its limitations are much more noticeable today. The biggest issue for me is the building system. You're restricted to fairly limited building areas, and sometimes there simply isn't enough room to create the hospital you actually want. Some hospitals end up feeling cramped, messy, and chaotic, not necessarily because you're doing anything wrong, but because the available space just isn't there. Compared to Two Point Campus and especially Two Point Museum, this is probably the part of the game that has aged the worst for me. There were also quite a few bugs when the game first released. Thankfully, most of the major issues seem to have been addressed over the years, and the game runs very well nowadays. Overall, Two Point Hospital is a fantastic management game with tons of charm, surprisingly deep mechanics, hilarious diseases, and that unmistakable Two Point style. It's not perfect, and some of its limitations are more obvious when compared to its newer siblings, but it's still a game I can wholeheartedly recommend. If you enjoy management or simulation games, give it a shot. And remember: when your patient dies, don't panic. Call the janitor. Cheers!
Score - 9/10 (Highly Recommended)
Two Point Hospital is the definitive successor to Theme Hospital. This means it's just as silly, fun and addictive as the original, and growing your small medical clinic to a large general hospital is very rewarding (despite larger hospitals requiring much micromanagement). Recommended for fans of Theme Hospital and those that enjoy business sim/tycoon games Full Review @ Choicest Games
From a now old school gamer: Is it as good as Theme Hospital? No, but then I was about 14 and had rosetinted glasses and all that. Did I enjoy the time I spent with it? Yes, though there are definetely some frustrations, I don't know if its just me. But having to have 10 GP offices and then 1 of everything else suggests that I am doing something wrong the game should explain to me, or that there is something wrong in the game. But it is good fun, I would go back to it. It just gets a little repetitive.
