Unsighted is a 2021 video game developed by Brazilian indie developer Studio Pixel Punk and published by Humble Games for the Nintendo Switch, Windows, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game is a Metroidvania adventure game in which players assume the role of Alma, an automaton who has amnesia in the aftermath of a war between humans and robots. In Unsighted, the player and all non-player characters have a depleting in-game time limit. When the time limit expires for characters, they become "unsighted" and disappear from the game. Players must explore the world and fight enemies to locate a finite amount of meteor dust, which allows them to choose to increase the time limit for themselves or other characters.

Runs well on modern hardware.

First of all, please don't mind about my playtime. I enjoyed Unsighted first via GOG and as an achievements collector, I wanted to play it on Steam too. I discovered Unsighted few months ago, a long time after its original release. This game came exactly in my life at the best moment. I was kind of dissapointed / not motivated anymore about video games honestly and the promise of Unsighted is clear: you need to finish the game as quick as possible or you'll get a game over. And if it was not enough stressfull, a timer goes for all NPCs too, with differents time amounts. These NPCs will be helpfull all allong your run and the choice is yours to give some meteor dust to A instead of B or C... Classic plot and best fusion of Zelda, Dark Souls, Metroid, in the post-apo Arcadia city with a great variety of environments. The parry mechanic is truly addictive. Puzzles are smarts. Exploring could be very rewarding. Visuals hooked me so much. Soundtrack is a gem I like to listening regulary. Playing Alma, in a rush to save her girlfriend and last survivors, was like a kind of representation I enjoyed as I'm a blue pink white woman and lesbean too. Thank you so much Fernanda and Tiani, I truly can't wait your next games <3
While I am going to recommend this, I am personally not going to continue playing this. I recommend this for fans of soulslikes, fans of good in game story telling, and fans of speedrunners. The reason I am not going to play more is due to two things: 1) I have found that I just cannot enjoy the combat in this game. Neither a mouse & keyboard nor a controller are proving to be comfortable. 3D Soulslike veterans will probably not have trouble as the controller controls are similar but I am no such veteran. I don't even play third person 3D games. 2) There is a serious visibility problem with the world, this camera perspective just isn't working for this game and I feel I just can't "see" the area around me in real time, especially insofar as the height of things are concerned. I think the game should have used a isometric perspective instead.
Very fun metroidvania with some classic zelda-esque dungeons and a whole lot of ideas. Every new mechanic felt welcome, and the old mechanics never really outstayed their welcome. The time sensitive nature its a very cool concept that I think was also executed very well. My only real complaints are that I personally wasn't a huge fan of the writing though the story being told was still entertaining, and while the art style is very attractive, it can often times be hard to tell depth. Regardless though, it was still an enjoyable experience and I'm glad I played it.
