V Rising is a 2024 action role-playing survival game developed and published by Stunlock Studios. It was first released in early access for Windows in May 2022, and was officially released two years later, with a PlayStation 5 version released on June 11, 2024. Within a week, it had surpassed one million sales.

Runs well on modern hardware.

I genuinely loved V Rising. The combat, castle building, progression, PvP — all of it is incredibly well made, and I put hundreds of hours into the game because I truly enjoyed it. Which is exactly why this feels so awful. I was permanently banned from official servers, not for cheating myself, but because another random player I happened to interact with was apparently cheating. Someone I never played with before or after. According to support, simply continuing to play around that situation counted as “benefiting” from cheats. What frustrates me most is that there seems to be no room for context, nuance, or intent. Competitive PvP servers are chaotic. People accuse each other of cheating constantly, joke around in chat constantly, and temporary alliances or interactions happen all the time — especially when entire servers are dominated by massive groups teaming together. I never used ESP or any cheat software. Not once. Yet I ended up permanently banned across all official servers anyway. What hurts is that I actually respected the game and the time I invested into it. I even tried communicating respectfully with support throughout the process because I genuinely wanted to resolve it fairly. I still think V Rising is an amazing game mechanically. But after this experience, I honestly feel discouraged from investing time into official PvP again if association alone can lead to a permanent ban without clear proof of direct cheating. I’m not writing this out of hatred for the game. I’m writing it because I genuinely cared about it, and this whole situation has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
It's a survival game. I didn't know that before. I thought it was an action RPG with a castle/base building element. You're going to spend hours if not days chopping down trees and smashing rocks (among other materials) and further refining them into other parts to build all the parts of your castle and your equipment. You'll have rooms or maybe an entire floor dedicated to refining materials. Then you'll find a nicer spot to build your castle and do it again. You are a vampire though so that's pretty cool. You have a list of targets you need to drink from and they unlock more powers and more build options.
Great game. vampire fantasy largely, cool building mechanics, fun combat and boss fights, pve and pvp. One of my favourite games.
