Valheim is an upcoming survival and sandbox video game by the Swedish developer Iron Gate Studio and published by Coffee Stain Studios. It was released in early access for Linux and Microsoft Windows via Steam on 2 February 2021, and for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on 14 March 2023. A port to the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to release in 2026.

This game has a quarter million reviews already, there's not much to say that hasn't already been said. This is my go-to forever game when all the rest of the gaming industry has been enshitified. It's cheap, it's packed with content, there aren't any microtransactions. Buy it.

5 years, half a decade in EA and we've recieved 2 biomes, a few materials, a revamped food system and a magic system thats gated off for half the game. you canot defeat the 6th boss solo without cheesing the fight. leaving the fight to repair gear and re entering is expected, thats terrible game design. if you get killed in the next region before establishing a portal, guess what. you need to build another resource intensive boat again. this game does not respect your time.
