A simple and fun wargame that shows how effective simple design can be. I like that it's a real-time version of Unity of Command. The major problem right now is that the match making will happily match you with someone on the other side of the world running the game on a potato, which causes the heavily synchronised netcode to give everyone massive input delay and "LOW FPS" warnings. It makes the game very unplayable. The gameplay also needs a design overhaul. Currently it's too snowbally, where a slight city advantage is a guaranteed win, as long as you defend for the bonuses, build up troops, and avoid losing to encirclements. I think the early YouTube prototypes looked more promising than what it turned out to be, tbh. TBH I think the game should start charging money at some point. It might make the solo developer less stressed out and ease the load on the servers.
The concept is fantastic, but the execution is lacluster even for a free game. The game is extremely laggy, and you can experience 10+ second input delay in pvp-matches, resulting in some frustrating losses
I wish this was available before I was gripped by the curse of Paradox Interactive. I might have had a few months extra before my life changed forever. At least I can play this while I cry about the amount of money ive given to other strategy and RTS games. Thank you, Tea&Python. But it is too late for I. Save the youngin's from the sunk cost fallacy that is any Paradox game.
