World of Warships is a naval warfare-themed free-to-play multiplayer online game developed and published by Wargaming. Players control warships of choice and can battle other random players on the server, play cooperative battles against bots, or participate in an advanced player versus environment (PvE) battle mode. For the most skilled players, two seasonal competitive modes are also available.

Runs well on modern hardware.

Just not as fun as it used to be and wouldn't recommend nowadays. The few game modes that are there are stale and the ones we actually like are rotated out of selection every couple of months despite what the community wants. Map selection is somewhat scarce and bland once you've cycled through them. The monetization is also getting out of control with $110+ Admiral packs, they are greedier than Gajin and that says something. There are also too many funny buttons for high tier ships which cause only a handful (or two) of ships to be feasible at that tier making high tier even more cut throat than it needs to be; and that's still not taking into account you can easily get sneezed on from 25km-30km out and die instantly to begin with. To avoid this many players sit behind an island and never move leaving the caps wide open to the enemy since they are not in a position that can look over the cap area. Teamwork at the level is hit or miss (mostly misses) but you can definitely count on teammates cussing each other out for the smallest things or even for nothing. Overall the good days of WoWs are behind it and now it's the devs trying to keep this game from dying even though they are the reason it's in terrible shape.
After only 19 hours, I already feel like I've had enough. The game constantly throws premium ships in your face, and it feels like anyone willing to spend money gets a huge advantage. I know people will say "it's not pay-to-win," but when you're a new player getting shredded by premium ships with experienced captains, it definitely feels that way. The tech tree grind is painfully slow. Unlocking new ships takes forever unless you buy premium time or boosters. Instead of feeling rewarded for playing, it feels like the game is trying to push you toward spending money. I mainly play destroyers, and half the time I just feel like target practice for battleships. Battleships seem to get all the love, while destroyers are constantly punished for trying to do their job. One mistake and you're erased by a single salvo. It often feels like the game is designed around making battleships the stars of every match. I wanted to enjoy World of Warships, but after just 19 hours, I've spent more time frustrated than having fun. Between the slow progression, endless premium content, and gameplay that feels stacked against certain classes, I don't see myself sticking around.
Comparing this to War Thunder this game is amazingly fun, I personally have played WoW Legends on PS4 for much longer but decided to check out WoW on PC, I really don't think this game is all that pay to win like I've heard, like I was just able to get a rank 7 Scharnhorst 43 and somehow i have 6 days of premium all for free which is amazing. There are multiple game modes, seems to me like there are new tech trees and mechanics being added all the time since I first got the game like 5 or so years ago, I don't really grind the game much and play casually but its so much fun to come back to and play every now and then and see what new things have been added I only worry that WoW could have a similar problem like War Thunder which is a lack of new things to add once most of them are already added leading to some copy paste and stuff, otherwise I think this game is great.
