Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a 2020 role-playing video game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega for the PlayStation 4. This version was then released in Japan and Asia under the subtitle International on February 25, 2021 for Windows and Xbox platforms. The game was released worldwide for the PlayStation 5 on March 2, 2021, and a version for Amazon Luna launched on December 10, 2021.

Runs well on modern hardware.

awesome awesome game. i liked the turn based combat a lot more than i expected, only downside is IMO getting caught in unwanted fights around town is a little more annoying. the story is just so great. glory to ichiban !
great game but the turn based combat pisses me off after your party gets smaller
One of the best JRPG's i've ever played. One of the best Like a dragon games that i've played so far. Very deep and fun turn based combat mechanics. Interesting story, funny characters and tons of contents. One of the best thing is the characters: Ichiban is no Kiryu but man he is so goofy, has more character and he brings a new perspective in the yakuza world. Party members are interesting and very engaging in everything that you do. They interact in many things that you do here and it really feels that you're together with a human rather an AI that keeps following around all over town. This is a breath of fresh air in previous yakuza games, where you always act like a lone wolf in the games. Speaking of content, this is a typical mainline Like a dragon game. The content and activities here are a lot. There are so many things that you can do. So many minigames, sidequests, collectibles, dungeons, and interactions that you can experience here. Also, the game features more than one city. There is a lot of activities in each cities . And also cities feel way more alive compare to old games. The only downside is the shallowness of the dating mechanic. Lost judgement still has better dating mechanic than here. For rpg mechanics, this is a job based turn based party system ala Final Fantasy V. You can mix and match and have different setups with the character in every battle that you take. Although, all characters have each one exclusive job that they can access. I didn't expect to have this deep turn based mechanic in a Like a dragon game. Since this is a turn based combat games with level. You get strong as you level up and buy or craft weapons. You need money. Thank god, this game gives you many options to raise money. The bosses here really feel easy at first but it really gets tough as game goes by, so you need to prepare to grind here! but the grind here is not too taxing if you want to finish the story. Same case in my other playthrough in other previous yakuza and judgment games, it is grindy to complete all the achievements here. i tried to get all achievements then i got tired again LOL. The good thing is you don't need to play the mahjong games (the minigame that i dreaded) here to get all achievements. There is a chance, i might try to get all achievements again sometime in the future. This is a Like a dragon game with deep RPG mechanic with turn based battles, so if you're a fan of beat em up yakuza games but not fond of turn based battles, you might not like it. But if you're open to it. as i said in my initial statement, this is one of the best yakuza games i've ever played. It belongs to the top along with Yakuza Zero. For newbies of the series, this is a good game to start your Like a dragon/Yakuza series. A new main character, new perspective, there might be references from the old game. but it's not detrimental to the story. It is very well done standalone game. This game is higly recommended and worth your money!
